Ideas for Concrete Floors

Here are some ideas for concrete floors coverings:

#1 Stenciled Concrete or Spray Application

For decades spray coatings have been very popular for your exterior coverings such as decks, patios, and pools.

Before, it wasn’t used for interior flooring, but since it is low cost, durable, and easy to apply, many high traffic interior places use this technique. Also, you will get a lot of different types of colors and patterns.

There are three types of finishes that you can get from spray application: smooth, knockdown, and orange peel. It all depends on the method of the application as well as the spray pattern.

Moreover, it can be used with some adhesive stencils to make some unique designs on your floor.

Also, a colored or clean sealer is applied for aesthetics and maintenance of the floor.

#2 Epoxy Coating

This type of coating is best for commercial facilities, basements, garage floors, and more. Moreover, you can add metallic pigments or color flakes to make a one-of-a-kind finish.

Furthermore, covering the floor with an epoxy coating is better when you need a high-performance floor that can resist chemicals, oil, and similar stuff. Epoxies are the most challenging floor covering that is available in the market.

#3 Self-Leveling

The latest and newest trend to concrete your floors is to use underlayment. Self-levelling floor covering is a staple if you want to level or repair damaged or worn-out contrite.

A few years ago, workers added a solid surface covering on the top of the self-levelling. But in recent years, workers have not started to add different colors or patterns to the self-levelling systems.

After they are done with the self-levelling, the workers will come back after a day and will use tints, dyes, or stains to make a colorful floor at your home or office.

The best thing about self-levelling is that it can repair broken floors and makes the floor even. Also, it can give a very durable and smooth concrete floor.

#4 Textured or Stampable Overlay Floor Coverings

If you want a 3D texture floor covering that looks like natural materials such as wood, tile, stone, etc., then do a stampable overlay for your floor covering. The thickness of these coverings ranges between ¼ inches – 5/8 inches.

Moreover, 3/8 inch is the standard thickness for stampable overlays, and this thickness is enough to hold most of the common tools at your place.

Besides, it takes 24 hours to complete this process. Also, after 36 hours of application, light traffic is allowed.
